Remember my advice to you a few years ago? If you have a somewhat wild looking outfit you want to wear but don’t have the courage to do so, wear it in January. Those who care, think you are wearing a Christmas gift, and will call you “kind.” Those who don’t care, don’t care.
Check out the bottom of my dress above. See those knots along the hem. That’s because the dress was too long so I clipped vertical cuts up the hem line and tied knots. Cutesy, gutsy, gypsy? Yes, I have a sewing machine but I can’t see well enough to find the eye in the needle.
So, as I said, It’s January. Just wear it. At the least you can wear it through the ITM drive through!
I haven’t had a real great ending of 2022. Nose bleeds, UTI, put check in front of ___Other. BUT God still wakes me. My Lord still meets me in my favorite meeting chair. R & R bought me a “blue tooth” so I can hear beautiful music, my Christmas “stuff” is stored, my Mt Dew is at my right hand, and my Snowmen are dancing, sitting, or in some other form, they are pleasing me.
ABOUT ME
Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
I don’t remember your advice about wearing that ‘certain’ bit of clothing in January so it will be mistaken for a gift, but it’s genius. Happy New Year to you, Oneta — and to those darling snowmen, too.
I think He is double-checking his calendar at this moment! A sinner saved by grace is a saint. So I accept your label. Why do Christians hate to be called saints? I think it is because we don’t like to live up to what that name implies. Maybe it is because of a mixed understanding of the word as used by Catholics. Or, I just might be wrong!
I want to pay tribute to wonderful people I have known, the wonderful country in which I live, the communities in which I have lived, the churches who have claimed me as their own, the God who sends shivers down my back when I really give him a portion of my time—well, maybe not shivers but tears flow easily in some of those most priceless times.
Enjoy it all as you bring in the New Year! I like a gutsy gal!
Talk about gutsy! I’ll claim that title if I ever sell home and hit the trail!

My snowmen and I thank you. I wish for you that you move peacefully into January second and all following days bringing their mystery with them.
God’s richest blessings to you in this new year. You have inspired me so much!
I hope to inspire by giving you a shove now and again. You inspire me my such clever use of words. I like it.
Thanks partner🎉
Happy New Year, dear saintly sister!
Maybe next year in the New Jerusalem if our Lord returns so soon!
❤️&🙏, c.a.
