I’m hallucinating as the long year’s TV’s news story are reflected in the heavy clouds above.
Son of Local Resident Disappears in Unbelievable Event. Observers tell of UFO swooping down and seven-year-old snatched upward.
Local Resident Receives Ransom Deal. A trade is offered. The boy for two girls!
Success in the Laboratory! Newly designed female dolls left at ransom scene.
Local Resident Arrives Home. Son, kidnapped by aliens, returned to father.
The reality of my son’s return has replaced the hallucinating TV updates.
The journey’s over. My son is by my side. My victory is complete.

About oneta hayes
Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
A happy port in a storm of reality. 🙂
Strange happenings, but peace reigns at last.
Yes. Glad that ended. I hope some rest will take away the hallucinations.
Well, my word!
Quite a year!
Wasn’t it just. Going crazier by the day.
Well then! This was a ride!
Wild, for sure! All’s well that ends well. Rest is now in order. 🙂
They will never believe the dolls and will be back. Interesting idea and swap.
I agree that they will not be fooled long. But that is another hundred word story. 😀
A happy ending, we can only hope it won’t be repeated.
Not by this family, but some where lurking in the dark sky …..
This has the feel of a Twilight Zone episode. Thank goodness her son is home. Hoping he isn’t a replicant!
I considered whether or not to have a dad or a mother as the rescuer, settled on a father as is shown in the last headline. Thanks for the Twilight Zone reference. I never read sci fi, so I’m especially glad to get that feel.
