WHEN AN ASPIRIN WON’T HELP

My husband and I just watched the first two movies in the Left Behind series; R & R are watching the third at the theater today. It is garnering attention to the subject – as well it should. I believe present circumstances lean heavily to the rapture being imminent.

A few months ago I wrote a couple of blogs about the rapture/the taking up of the Christians that many expect to happen before the tribulation, the Left Behind subject. One concerning the present “normal” culture https://onetahayes.com/2022/09/20/as-in-the-days-of-noah/ The other concerning the scripture in Timothy: https://onetahayes.com/2022/09/21/end-times-2nd-tim-3/

There are some theological differences among those of us who believe in the “rapture” and in the “second coming” because some Biblical signs point to one event and some to the other event. God could have left more info if he had wanted us to know.

Reminds me of parents leaving a seventeen in charge of the house while they go out with the promise to return by 2:00. In that case when does Junior crumple his popcorn sack, tell his buddies to go home, and get his homework done? You say 8:00; I say no way. He waits until 1:30 then finds he cannot be prepared for their return at 2:00! So like a wise parent, God just says, “Get ready, and stay ready.”

But he does want us to know what has to be done while awaiting the big event. That is wrapped up in “preparing your soul,” so he gives some signs to watch for. Then you can just go about your daily living content and ready. Nowhere does he advise stocking up on anti-anxiety pills!

If you are a name only tribal kind of Christian, an aspirin won’t help much in the tribulation years!

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

When the Left Behind book series came out, our church membership at the time all read it. We passed the novels around. One could read one book in two or three sittings. We all were working at the time! Then the movie came out. It was so abbreviated. We really caught the “vision” in the books.
We’ll have to try and catch the new movie.
I’ve watched all of The Chosen by Dallas Jenkins – son of Jerry Jenkins, the author of Left Behind series!

I had read the books; I would not have re-read them so I am glad to have seen the movies for a new urge to help get the message out. Jesus is Coming Soon. Thanks, Debbie L.

Amen!!! I’m looking forward to shedding my aging tent for a glorified body, no more pain, no more tears NOR sin! And to live in the PERFECT Promised Land where Jesus Reigns 24/7/365 forever!

I do believe you hit the nail on the head! It’s about always being ready cause we don’t know the time when He will appear. But we do know the signs….Excellent post!
