ISRAEL AS A SIGN OF END TIMES, part 1

In the Bible, the last we see the Jews (Israelites, Hebrews) together as a “self-governing” unit was before the Assyrians took Northern Israel (10 tribes) and the Babylonians took Southern Israel (Judah and Benjamin).  After seventy years the Babylonians released them (two tribes)to go back home if they chose to.  Some did; some didn’t.  Paul said he was of the line of Benjamin. Herod was a Jewish “convert” appointed to serve a king of the Jews.

Canaan, Palestine, and Israel are all names of the same location.  It was called Palestine after the Romans took over.  That helps to know why there was—and still is—conflict between Palestine and Israel.

The Assyrians sent many Jews back to Assyria; others went other places.  They intermingled and intermarried.  For many, their Jewish identity waned.  Basically this is why they are referred to as the “ten lost tribes of Israel.”

An excerpt from Google: Jews consider Israel their holy land, which their ancestors were instructed to make their homeland. During the course of history, Jews were pushed out of the land. They started heading back in the late 19th century. The two World Wars contributed to the creation of Israel in Palestine.

LET’S TAKE A GIANT HEAP TO SEE WHAT JESUS SAID ABOUT THE FIG TREE.  Matthew 24:32-33 Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.   Luke 21:31 says “kingdom of God.”

As a result of negotiations after both WW 1 and WW 2, the nation of Israel, representing the fig tree, was established in 1948.  So, wow, even those in my timeline must be sitting on a time event outdoing all other time events.  If the “kingdom of God” is referring to the Second Coming, then the rapture is mighty close even taking in all considerations of what “generation” means!  Genea, root of generation can mean race, family, period of time.  I don’t make sense of it meaning race or family.  So period of time is logical to me.  However, period of time surely would be within the century or a life span.  Either meaning would have to be soon!  My vote is on soon.

I need another session on Israel. So I bid you adieu.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

Yes, please do tell more! My spiritual mentor and I have been going through Genesis, chapter by chapter this year. Love it so I am most interested. Fascinating watching the development of Jacob as he becomes Israel!

Yes, it is good to start at the beginning and as you said fascinating to see where this is all winding up. Not a circumstance has deterred his plan.

      • Debbie L says:

Nope! Today I’m studying one of the worst chapters in Israel’s history, Genesis 34, the rape of Dinah. The response to this tragedy could have deterred God’s plans – But He creates messages out of our messes. This clearly was a horrific mess!
