TEST RUN

Hello friends and nodding acquaintances who will become friends and all others who might be stumbling onto my blog.  I hope you find me so delightful you will stick around and come back.  😀

This will be very short because it is a test run.  I have not been able to use my WP normally.   I don’t know whether or not this is going to work, and I am not about to waste all my wisdom on things that fly into a black hole.

“Toggle block inserter” pops up.  Then it inserts!  Then I am nicely told to wait or exit.  The Word Press Happiness Engineers were very helpful as they told me it was my browser problem and they could not do anything about that.

From what I have been reading/researching the problem is caused by the Edge browser. I think I read “can only be destroyed by hammer” used in the fashion that Hillary perfected. Maybe I need to re-read that before following through.

Here I go for a test run. Does it work? I’ll soon find out.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

It looks good to me…I hope it does to you, too!

I couldn’t use a picture, however. I doesn’t matter on this one. But I like pictures. For instance, I have not been able to do Friday Fictioneers because it is a picture prompt. The number of entries on that prompt looks like others are not being bothered.

I hope you get it worked out. Have you tried switching browsers? I use Chrome and haven’t had any problems.

Chrome is what I prefer to use. That’s what my WP uses, I guess. That’s where Edge is trying to force themselves on me. I think Chrome would be big enough to keep that from happening. My computer recently downloaded Windows 11; I think Edge was “build into” it. Again, I don’t know what I’m talking about. 😀

I see you but had to log in to comment

Worked. I have Edge and works well when I downloaded and started using the new app JetPack.

Looks good to me as well. I have been using Edge as my browser too. Haven’t noticed abnormalities except for a occasional spike on stats for one day a month.

Well I see this so apparently some success 😇
I am puzzling out using tablet instead of phone after years away from desktop blogging. Best wishes on learning

Thank you. I’m getting by without pictures; but I want pictures. I especially like picture prompts. I can’t write them if I can’t include the picture. Friday Fictioneers has a darling picture of a violin. And I can’t write about it unless I get something going before Tuesday. Maybe it will work the same on Edge, if I just quit trying to change it. 😀

My problems with Word Press: My “like” and “share” buttons are not visible to me; my jetpack has disappeared from the admin. bar.

I see it fine. Sorry you’re having problems. Are you on a laptop, PC, or tablet? I work mostly from my tablet and usually don’t have many issues. Also, wp recently changed to Jetpack. Have you downloaded the app yet? Pretty simple.

  8. well I just had to add the jetpack app on my phone and then I had to create a new password just to get into my old cookiecrumbs site just so I could read your post since my old WP seems to have morphed into this jetpack business–I’ve yet to post anything new so Lord help me!!!
but here is my one little posting secret—I bookmarked, a few years back, my traditional old post site pre block days—and praise the Lord—it still works!! Good for you for being brave and bold!!!

I have a logo for jetpack but have no idea what it is, or what it does. I read from cell or I-pad but don’t answer beyond a “like”. I’ll ask someone here about the Jetpack possibility. “Brave and bold” – I must have earned that reputation when I was confronting human beings, not computers. 😀

No problem now. I’m using Firefox as a browser, so it may be that there was a little glitch there. I don’t use any of the WP apps, including Jetpack, but then I do most of my computer work at my desk, unless I’m traveling.

There are some of my blogging friends that I read during my meditation times in the mornings. I do those on phone. Writing either comments or posts demands that I come into my library where I am now. I’m sure certain pressure points on my bottom connect with my brain function. By the way, I fell today as I was entering Physical Therapy. So much for grace. I might see what I can do with that story tomorrow. It will be much more fun to tell – and I won’t need pictures!
