Yes, I do believe the scripture which says we should be hospitable to strangers because we might be entertaining angels unawares. I also believe that means real heavenly angels appearing in the form of man or woman on earth.
But I believe we much more often encounter “earthly angels.” Two I want to describe to you today.
Earthly Angel #1 was a young man looking out the window at the Physical Therapy Clinic. He saw that I was having a lot of problem getting out of my car. The wind was particularly bad so I could not get the door to stay open long enough to get my rear and my gear out of the car. So he headed out to help me.
We walked across the parking lot and started up a ramp. Ho, that wind was bad. It blew me backward and down I fell, somewhat supported be my angel who buffered my fall by letting me fall back on him. He didn’t fall; he let me down carefully. However, I’m was down. That’s not good. It takes a chair with two strong arms to get me up, and that is when I am in an upright, sitting chair mode so I can use my arms to push myself up. I cannot pull myself up. Why? I don’t know. That’s part of the reason I was at PT. My right arm has been painful.
I asked them to bring me a chair. They did, but it had no arms. No way could I get up. So along come Earthly Angel #2 in the form of a lady. So with four strong arms, they pulled me up far enough for me to sit on that chair and rest a bit. Then I needed to be pulled up out of that chair in order to go inside.
I want to stop a bit for thinking right here. Thinking about trust. There I was on a ramp, my backside lower that the front. No bones had been broken … yet. But if I get part way up and they let me fall, that story could easily change.
Well, I have been humiliated and embarrassed enough to accept that I just trust in my Lord and in any Angels he sends to help me out. I’m so thankful that my security is in my Lord and that He is always close enough to find an angel for me.
It’s being said that every good that we do in this life gets repaid, and I believe you’re actually reaping the seeds of your good deeds. I discovered that we don’t always need to yell to God, “Please help me,” because he understands and sends earthly angels to help us get back on our feet.
Have a great weekend, Oneta! 💐
Thank you, Katherine. His angels must keep up a busy pace, especially those who help me get back on my feet. I haven’t had “staggering” spells today. For that I am thankful.
You will be protected and things will only work for the best. Take care 🤗
I love this post, Oneta. I believe there are angels of whom we are not aware, and I’m sure God has provided more than one guardian angel for me!
My father in law used to say that he had two angels who followed him. Their names were “Goodness” and “Mercy.” See the tie to the song: Surely Goodness and Mercy shall follow me, all the days, all the days of my life. And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever, and I eat at the table spread for me…..surely Goodness and Mercy shall follow me, all the days all the days of my life.
Love that song. KNown if for what seems life all my life 🙂
Sorry about the fall – but what a beautiful story about earthly angels! Our Lord is so faithful in providing them for us. God bless and heal you.

May God bless your ministry as you share testimonies.
Absolutely! I wholeheartedly embrace the scripture that urges us to show hospitality to strangers, for they could very well be heavenly angels in disguise. In my belief, these angels have the ability to take on human form and walk among us here on Earth. It’s an awe-inspiring thought that reminds us to treat every person we encounter with kindness and respect, for we never know the divine presence that may be in our midst. So let us open our hearts and minds to the possibility of encountering these celestial beings, and let us extend our warmest welcome to them, just as we would to any guest.
“an angel in disguise” sounds appealing; however, God loves his human people even more (I think) so we should particularly be honored to help out one of his loved human beings. Thanks for your response. I love the interaction.
