ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR LIMITS

Two geese, Konk and Honk,  had taken up residency in Nelly’s front yard.  Hummingbirds were happy across the street with the Lacrete family.  They were exciting  little creatures with the ability to lift off like helicopters.

The ruckus started when Nelly put out hummingbird feeders.

“What’s that?” Honk asked Konk.

“Don’t know but it must be good.  Let’s check it out.”

Wings have flapped for four hours now, still no helicopter effect.

“Hey, Honk, maybe we need to look for grubs in the grass and let the honeyed water pass.”

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

Yes, bird feeding is an art if you want to attract only the small birds. I know my Mother used to annoyed when the pigeons would get at the food, put out for the Blue-Tits.

I love birds too, Oneta. I always leave bread crumbs for them outside and I get frequent visits.
It’s nice to lend God a helping hand once in a while.

    Have a great weekend! ☺

  3. Dale says:

Haha! The trouble you get when you choose to feed birds is the unwelcome ones who try to come and visit 🙂
