MEET GREAT-GRANDMOTHER, VICKY

Great-grandmothers did not exist looking like this in my day, past or present.  😀  Did I say that right?  Great grandmother?  Yes, but she got a little boost, maybe three years by a grandson who came into her family from a different parentage.

Vicky has been here at my house the last two days because of my health issues.  This was in spite of the fact that she has a daughter who is getting married two weeks from today.  Thanks, Vicky.

Vicky’s number one mom went on to Heaven without us a few years ago.

I have been pretty important to Vicky for nearly 45 years.  She and Carl married 44 years ago.  I was a big “cupid” during her teen years.  Yeah, I was all in.  I’ve mentioned the crooked tree and campmeetings in previous posts.  One of those years, I told Vicky this  was going to be the year he will propose to you.  Guess what?  I was right.

She definitely had other choices and she made our hearts skip a beat or two when it looked like she was not going to be so easy to catch, but God knows how to guide his kids.  Fortunately she stayed on His path.

I am also blessed with a second DNL by name of Renee.  She is a dilly also, but she did not enter my life so many years ago.  Also she has been spending a lot of time and work with her mother who has medical issues.  I will miss her this Mother’s Day, but it is good that she can be with her mother.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
