DOES ANYBODY REMEMBER YESTERDAY?

It was Easter!

New clothes, baby chickens, fluffy bunnies, colored eggs, chocolate candy, stomach-stuffing dinners, family togetherness, car load of beauties going to church, giving thanks for the cross and empty tomb?

Today the clothes are thrown over the back of a chair, chickens and bunnies ready for the charity bazaar,  eggs beginning their two weeks in cold storage, chocolate candy bringing remorse, family togetherness anticipated for the next holiday, questions arise about getting back to regular church attendance.  Back to work and paying the bills.

But today and everyday the cross still stands and the grave is still empty.  Jesus Paid It All and Up From the Grave He Arose.

God said in Deuteronomy 30:19  “I set before you life and death” followed by his good advice to choose life.  The offer is still good.

I remember, do you?

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

  1. Happy Easter Monday, Oneta! ✝️🐥

  2. I remember! I hope your Easter was blessed

Yes, praise the Lord Jesus, every day He is risen indeed. Every day is Resurrection day!

You mentioned “chocolate candy bringing remorse” — oh, that’s me right now. Our 46 year old daughter went to church and out to dinner with us and she gave her old daddy and old me two Easter baskets filled with chocolate and sugar, one for each of us. She shouldn’t have done it! But it tasted good.

Your last post was over one month ago. How are you doing? I’m praying for you right now. God bless!

Oops, my mistake, I read the date wrong on your last post!

I have posted some in April, but I have missed several days especially challenges. I like challenges but when time is just to tight, they are sacrificed. Thanks for keeping tabs on me. 😀 And, oh my, it was hard to empty kids Easter baskets without delving into the chocolates that were left here. I didn’t eat any …. yet. Have a great week.

Ordinarily, I would blame the chocolate for getting me confused about the date of your last post. But I hit my head pretty hard on ” Good Friday” as I was doing yard work. Who knew that yard work could be so dangerous? I haven’t been feeling quite right ever since. I’m sure I have a mild concussion.

I have been knocked completely unconscious four times in my life, so I really don’t need any more concussions! But I am trusting that the Lord will work even this out for the good.

  4. Yes I remember!!! I am so grateful that we can celebrate the Resurrection every day!

I remember! And lo — without chocolate remorse this year. It’s the first time in years I haven’t bitten the ears off a chocolate bunny, but I survived just fine.

You are a woman with great self control. The kids left chocolate eggs that I did not eat today, but I really feasted on banana pudding. Probably not a great choice. Celebrate you victory.

Easter is always fun. I hope it went wonderful for you too. And I really liked the begining of the post. It is the post celebration time. Hahaa

Oneta, I’m sure you remember Easter bonnets. I wore a new hat to the Easter service and got compliments from young and old. Believe me, there are many men out there who appreciate seeing a woman wearing a hat to church. (Most Sundays I wear one.) One Sunday a young man stopped at my pew and told me that I brought back fond memories of his mother. If I miss a Sunday, someone invariable asks, “Judy, where is your hat?” I’ve also heard, “I had to see what hat you were wearing today.” So many people receive pleasure from such a simple thing.

  9. Amen and amen! I am so deeply grateful for His offer!! And I remember too! 🙂 🙂
