FIRST LOOK INTO MY NEW “DOINGS”

On this blessed holy and restful day, I will share a first peek at one of my achievements on our home redecorating project. This is an “inset” in a hall wall visible from the den/living room area. The books are novels from Harold Bell Wright; the middle vase is a gift from ReNee’s mother; the doll was a gift also. I am debating about adding a lace panel across the top. Think I should? I had one before and I really liked it.

We had a promise of rain today for which we Okie’s are so thankful. I was so thankful I didn’t get out for church! I’ll explain that one to the Lord. LOL Joking a bit. I love the feel of a nice drizzling rain but that causes wet clothes if you are a slowpoke, which I am.

Be blessed, dear people. I have been catching up a bit on reading your blogs; hope to get back to posting somewhat regularly. I’ll show you more finished projects along the way.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

I really like this arrangement. Personally, I wouldn’t put lace across the top, but I know that my mother would have. So, there’s a divided opinion for you! It will be fun to see what else you’ve been up to.

In our household, we have the two generations living together. And I find that trend in our choices. I am streamlining. Renee insists on me doing my thing; I am happy to oblige her. Nice of me, huh?

The lace panel sounds like a good idea. Beautiful inset.

Thanks, Frank. The curtain panel I took down is a creamy gold so it can’t go back. I can always watch for something that grabs me, and put it up as a motivation to clean and dust again. I’m doing a lot of cleaning with this project.

I would put some lace with a little bit of colour in it if you can find it Oneta…maybe something with a little colour pattern to it maybe….nothing to bright…I think it will be lovely! GOD BLESS you and your family!

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried a bit on curtain today but it was too wide. As I told Frank above, I can watch until I find just the needed perk-up when I need a change. I’ll not wait until I need new furniture!!
