WHY CHRISTMAS?

Two reasons:

First, Christians around the world celebrate the Christmas season because “it is the birthday of Jesus.”  Therefore, JESUS is OUR reason for the season.

Second, Jesus chose to come as a babe to fulfill a mission to redeem mankind.  Therefore, WE are HIS reason for the season.  As explained by Matthew Henry:  “Christ came to save his people, not in their sins, but from their sins; to purchase for them, not a licence to sin, but a liberty from sins, to redeem them from all iniquity (Tit 2:14); and to redeem them from among men (Rev. 14:4) to Himself.”

     “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call him name JESUS;                   for he shall save his people from their sins.”  Matthew 1:21
