I listen in His stillness
Bask in His quietness
Learn in His kindness
Cleanse in His holiness
Submit to His loveliness
Rejoice in His nearness
Then I hear Him in His stillness.
And I am prepared for the day.

About oneta hayes
ABOUT ME
Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
Beautiful start to my day too❤️
Thanks, Kathy. When I start my days like this, they are much better. God honors our time when we give him a healthy portion of it. Good day to you, dear.
Thank you. It was a good day. Spent a couple hours with my granddaughter and about four hours with friends from church. There are about 8 of us who are home during the day and we get together once a week for coffee. Today we had a potluck lunch and watched the movie, The Notebook. It’s fun to gather in this way too so we get to know each other better and encourage each other.
Yes, I have been considering getting a group about that size to meet at least a couple times a month. Maybe it will come together. Best to you.
Beautiful, and what a wonderful start to this challenge.
Thank you. I will be back to read more. Have a good day.
You too! Did I ever tell you that Hayes is my maiden name. Do you think…lol.
How about that! But no relation because Sammy changed legal name on his citizenship papers. His birth name was Haase. They changed because of persecution of Germans during the war (in Liverpool/London) even though he had an uncle who was a pilot in the RAF. But they didn’t legally change the name until they came to USA.
Ah, that happened frequently in those times. I am uncertain about our roots. My father hailed from U.K. but that is all I know.
Just beautiful. Perfect to begin the day and week…
Thank you. Yes, very appropriate for Monday, the generally unwelcome day of the week.
Beautiful!
Thank you. Sounds like you know how to hear him.
Absolute solace is that!
A beautiful prayer to start the day. Thank you.
I just left you place a bit ago. Read the haiku reg: equality. Thanks for visiting.
Have a good day Oneta.
What wonderful start to anyone’s day. I thank you sincerely. Keep living well.
Yes, it is. I miss out when I fail to start in some fashion similar to this.
Very beautiful poem! 🙂
Thanks. Those who know him, know the truth contained. I tried to go to your blog but was told, it was no longer available. Do you have a new location. If so, please send to me.
Oh how strange! It is there but not sure why you can’t access it. Thanks for letting me know!
I went there again. It says site no longer available – authors have deleted. Not exact words but both those messges.

this is the address…not sure why it says that… I emailed worpress. weird!
I got it that time. From this link. Looks like you can do a kind and needed service to the foster child ministries. I lift a follow. For a period of my years since retirement I served as a CASA (Court Appointed Child Advocate) volunteer. It was an important part of my life.
Thank you! I was a child advocate as well. However, my field of work does not always allow me to do that because it is a “conflict of interest” but foster care is less so. Also we have always wanted to adopt!

Thank you.
I’m catching up on posts I missed during the transition from my retired phones to my new tablet. I’m so glad the older unopened posts are here. This poem in particular is lovely, Oneta.
Glad you are browsing through. That is a kind thing to let me know. And thank you.
