I’M JUST RUMINATING

1. Sounds like President Biden has decided to make living with the Covid situation a bit easier.  Last election he promised to eliminate it.  People probably won’t buy that line any more.

2. I just read that “The government has sent more than 270 million free tests to nearly 70 million households since mid-January, with nearly half of the 500 million still unclaimed.”  So how do I claim something the government sent if I don’t know it has been sent?

3. I was about ten. Mon was ironing. I took the songbook in to her and asked her to listen to the songs that I knew in that book. I was so proud; I really knew a lot of them. She made no response that I remember but the incident etched a negative memory in me. I guess my singing wasn’t so hot! Of course, it could have been pretty good; most any mother would lose enthusiasm at a child wanting to sing all the songs in the book to her.

4. How long will the enemy mock you God? Will the foe revile your name forever? (Ps. 74:10) How did they mock? By hiding their plans and snares, saying “Who will see us?” (64:5) By spewing sharp words from their lips, saying “Who will hear us?) (59:7) By doubting God’s power, saying “Can God really…?” (78:19) Mocking questions in David’s day haven’t changed much in our day, have they?

5. I have discovered why so many of my comments to bloggers don’t show up!  It is because I do as I do on Facebook; there I just hit enter rather than clicking the post comment that must be done on Word Press.  Arg!

6. AP claims that they are fact checking Biden’s speech.  As I remember it they could do that even before President Trump’s speech was complete!

7. My cornplant always gets brown tips on the leaves.  I researched and found out it can be from overwatering, or underwatering, or watering with the wrong kind of water, or stress.  I’ve decided it is stress.  I will no long yell at it when I’m mad at Sammy.  I could take it out of the kitchen and put it close to my bed so it could listen to my bedtime prayers.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

I especially liked number seven. It might just be stress. 🙂

I never got my free covid tests either. Do you think someone in the USPS is setting up a side business?

WoW! Had me worried for a minute – I thought your title said you were marinating! 😂
The government sent Anita and me a couple of those tests, thankfully NOT the ones made in China!! But good luck on finding out how to get one. Seriously, you could contact your congressperson or senator.
And STOP YELLING AT YOUR PLANTS! They might be hard of hearing, but they watch your facial expressions, too! 😅

I laughed at #7. But, I can share my one and only ‘gardening’ tip. If you have chlorine in your water, let the water you use for the plant sit out for a day or so. The chlorine will evaporate, and your plant will be happier. My mother’s African violets nearly all died until we started doing that with their water, and they perked right up.

I see that CNN had a report about five days after the speech. It seems pretty fair. Most of the things were true, BUT because of the timing that came along with the assault of the Covid pandemic, such as the rehiring of people who were laid off by mandate.

Thanks for the update, Oneta! 💕 However, I have no faith in what the main-stream media reports and compared to my own research do not feel CNN’s assessment of the SOTU was accurate. 😔 So sorry.

We have our test kits. I have no idea how. At the dialysis center a nurse lectured the patients about how they needed to request them. My wife said to her that while she was requesting hers, she could duplicate the forms for us, Amazing that she actually did it.
