MONDAY MOORING, “I’VE GOT YOU COVERED”

WHEN JESUS SAID, “IT IS FINISHED, HE MEANT HE HAD ADCHIEVED THE VICTORY FOR ALL OUR NEEDS.”

THINK OF IT AS MEANING “I’VE GOT YOU COVERED.”  JOHN WAYNE LINGO FOR SAYING, GO OUT AND SLAY THOSE KILLERS, I’M STAYING RIGHT HERE WITH A TRIGGER-HAPPY FINGER.  I’LL SHOOT THOSE BULLETS RIGHT OUT OF THE BLUE!

MAYBE I AM OVERDOING THE ANALOGY A LITTLE BIT.  JUST CHANGE JOHN WAYNE TO JESUS, CHANGE THE KILLERS TO THE DEVIL AND HIS IMPS, CHANGE THE BULLETS TO A SWORD. REMEMBER THAT THE SWORD IS THE WORD OF GOD.

NOW AM I GETTING CLOSER TO GOD-SPEAK.  THROW SOME SCRIPTURE AT THOSE FIREY DARTS AND WATCH THEM WHIMPER.

MOORING.  “SOMETHING TO HOOK OUR ANCHOR TO.”

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

  1. Oneta, I’m imagining the kind of sharp shooter that could shoot bullets out of the air … Only God!!
I have read/ heard that the words translated “It is finished” are the same words that were stamped onto a bill when the last payment was made. The meant, literally, “Paid in full.” 😊❤️

Love it, love the analogy! Love John Wayne. Love Jesus! Great post this “morning”.

What speaks to us (you and me) might not hit the spot. I’ll try that target along the way. Meanwhile, it’s you and me and Jesus all the way. John Wayne can’t hold a candle to Him, but he was a pretty good guy.

    Inspirational as always, God’s great!
Thanks for sharing, Oneta. Sending you good vibes and health 💗
