INVITATION TO ALL

good shepherd

Equal chance for all

The Good Shepherd, invites “Come”

To all troubled souls.

Isaiah 40:11  “He will feed his flock like a shepherd; he will carry the lambs in his arms and gently lead the ewes with young.”

*************

Dear Readers.  As I write this this morning, I  confess to the question in my mind, “Lord, do all have an equal chance?  Really?  What about those in third world who can’t even read?  Is their chance equal to mine – one who has been blessed to read, teach, learn, listen about you all my life?  My answer still only falls on my faith.  My faith that answers “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes on him, shall be saved.”   EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES ON HIM.  No matter the advantages I have had to hear about him, I am just as lost as anyone else if I do not respond to the call.  In fact all the advantages I have had makes me more liable if I choose to ignore the call.  “To him who is given much, much is required.”  Luke 12:48

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

Yes, at the foot of the cross, we are all the same. Oneta, what translation did you use for John 3:16? I have always known it to be “believe in him.” I think there is a difference between believing in Jesus and on Jesus.

I didn’t look it up, Judy. I did have the question but I ran it through my memory bank again and decided it was on. Should have recognized the nudging of the Holy Spirit and looked it up. It is believeth in him in both KJ and NIV. Thanks.

Believing in Jesus. First, thank you for the blog and posing the question. I personally have come to know some very-anti Christian people who believe in Jesus. Ie like some flippantly believe in Santa Claus and the tooth fairy. I thank God for having the advantages of growing up with teaching and steady knowing and then the resounding certainty that He alone is the Saviour. The clear teaching about Jesus ALONE as Saviour certainly helped me. God the Holy Spirit as the Teacher and the ONE who points always to the Cross makes the whole package….virgin birth, sacrificial death, resurrection and return to Heaven and then sending God the Holy Spirit to be with us FOREVER real. It is the message some in the less educated places on earth seem to be getting, grasping and understanding much more speedily that many in my ilk did.(even some Christian churches seem to still struggle or compromise) . Dreams of Christ on the Cross seem to be on the increase in the middle-east. Islamic soldiers have been recounting this happening in the remotest areas of vicious conflict. God so loved the world that He died for ALL. True belief must come with an almost blinding mental acceptance and certainty and the changes will then bring a ‘born again’ awareness of being part of a Heavenly Kingdom. Your blog is always appreciated. Often your questions evoke strong comments I had not intended. Thank you!.
