“Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God. And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the Lord which sanctify you” (Lev. 20:7,8).
Jehovah-M’Kaddish – Jehovah who sanctifies Ex 31:13; Lev. 20:8; 21:8; 22:9, 15, 32; Ezek. 20:12
In https://onetahayes.com/gods-provision/ I made the claim that every need of man is met in God who reveals himself as the provider of those needs by his Jehovah names. God’s demand for men to live holy with His provision to make that possible is essential to man’s self esteem. I do not believe men respect/esteem themselves when they are walking in the way of sin and evil and do not see themselves as men of integrity. I present this argument from a Biblical perspective.
The Biblical account of the revelation of God as Jehovah-m’kaddesh occurs in Leviticus amidst the giving of the law to Moses. God’s reiteration of his holiness as well as his demand for sanctification of the people, punctuates his laws with seriousness (Lev. 11:44; 19:2; 20:26; 21:8). It is as though he stops and gives his reason for demanding obedience to his laws. Why must his people follow the law? Because He is holy and he is calling them to holiness.
But how can man be holy? In this new revelation, God is showing himself as the one who makes them holy. A discussion of this matter can be found at https://onetahayes.com/gods-provision/jehovah-m’-kaddish-jehovah who sanctifies/
The Truth of what you have written from the WORD is indeed profound. I appreciate your commitment to write these truth depths. My good morning and your depths truly the Lord combines in a beautiful way. Thank you!
Thank you, Faye. Most of the time I prefer shorter and lighter, but occasionally God gives me a nudge to put some work out! That’s how my Jehovah series comes to be. However, the research and initial manuscripts were for my Doctoral thesis. For example, in my original I used a lot of quotes with footnotes. In this subject I compared the doctrinal statements in three denominations. That sort of thing but it doesn’t seem appropriate to use that much detail in blogging. It was a real blessing to do. My next shared study will be Jehovah-Shalom, My Peace. Thanks for your input into my blogging venture. I do enjoy my visits with your material also.
Thank you very much for posting such inspiring stuff, God really is great. Kindly follow my blog thepoeticturk.wordpress.com and check out my poetry. Thanks!
