Reporter: “Sir, you saw what happened?”
Nervous witness: “Yes. About an hour into the inquisition, Mr. Brown reached for the Bible to take the oath. Suddenly there were startled expressions on all the faces as everybody’s eyes were focused on the wall behind me.”
Reporter: “Any sound?”
“Just an eerie windy sound. I looked back at the wall. There was a message there. It just said, ‘TEKEL’*. There was a shadow something like a hand. Everybody started running out. But…Mr. Brown…Mr. Brown fell. He was laying there just like he is now.
Reporter mutters as he leaves: “Nothing newsworthy here.”

Sort of goes this way. The reporter tells his boss. They put their heads together and figure out how to blame Trump. News is a day late but by now it is news. 😀
I wouldn’t doubt it. I was convinced the news couldn’t be trusted when genocide was going on in Africa, while America was fixated on Michelle Obama’s new hairstyle.
A prime example.
This is a good reminder to read the Book of Daniel again.
There might also be a lesson here about Upharsin (?) – the dividing of the kingdom.

Neil, I agree, but I’ve seen lots of things going on that “big” news ignores in favor of telling what the latest Hollywood starlet thinks of Global warming or such heavy stuff as that. If I want news about Global warming I expect to get it from someone who knows something about it. I haven’t heard one of them asked about the homeless getting dangerously close to their abodes. Well, security fences and guns probably keeps that from their concern.
Trump and the Bible? Hum?

Pranab, You are expecting too much from me to connect Trump and the Bible from this. I’m not into complexity. My point is there is a fierce lack of respect for Truth and I expect it will be dealt with one way or another. Did that spell it out for you well enough? I don’t know of any sins “commuted.” They are judged, penalty due. That is where I claim the ticket paid that Jesus paid for me. Maybe I don’t understand “commuted” but I do understand “paid”. Your parry.
I have to ask first what sin I committed. But I have faith that whatever I may have committed will be commuted because of my partner. I am sure you have done much good work just for one person. Whatever spills over, I would be happy to use it for me.😀
😀 Just going on his goodness. No works for me nor for you. Sorry if it were like that it wouldn’t take very long for heaven to be a unpleasant as earth. Just trusting Him to clean me up. Accept his offer and there might be a place right there in David’s Psalms Museum for you to write your poetry. Or maybe in Solomon’s Hall to write your love poems. It’s a bargain.
I am assured by the unseen one that my presence in earth is very much required to assist in making the only place we call home a heaven instead of searching for the illusory one. So even if there is a reincarnation, I shall be back here writing poetry amongst the heathens while you will probably singing psalms. I shall make a lousy psalm writer anyway.
And as far as that matter of salvation, I shall skip that. I like the feel of mother earth.😀

Just a few days back I had the good fortune to listen to a “live” performance via zoom. The singer was much younger to me, with a strong melodious voice singing some soulful songs in a language that I was not fluent. The host asked him if his singing was influenced by the way he was brought up as a child of the Books. His answer was very poignant and stuck with me.
He said that none of us had a choice in the family or culture we were we were born but our searching were all the same. We are all searching for the one in the centre and like in a wheel with spokes leading to the centre, at the start , we all move in different paths (the spokes of the wheel) that are wide apart. However, as we approach the center ( nearing the end of our search / enlightened?), we come closer and closer and ultimately all paths (spokes of the wheel) converge and merge into the One.
I could only say Amen to that.
Hope you “averse” doesn’t turn to “reverse.” 😀
I only move forward.
They say it’s all in the eye of the beholder and many journalists prove that truism again and again. What they ignore if it doesn’t conform to the parroted lines they’ve been given!
We have been looking the “truth” lens. New people are as responsible for what they report as for truth/lies.
Great Post! I love how you can so cleverly expose the rise of fake news because Truth is either difficult or controversial to write and does not .sell. papers. The days of TRUTH nothing but the TRUTH. have disappeared from media. Thank you.

TEKEL is from a story in the 5th chapter of Daniel. In my story I was trying to point out that Mr. Brown was about to perjure himself. God called his on it, struck him dead. I intended to point out that I believe God will get fed up with lies – in this case, lies from the news reporters. I feel that not reporting important stories is as much of a lie as writing falsehoods. The Reporter? No, I don’t think he cared about Truth of any kind of story that did not fit the “theme of the day.” I believe few reporters have boldness to look for Truth.

In all seriousness, though, having read comments above reporters are human beings too, and it is unchristian to hurl insults at other people while using our Lord’s name. I continue to be deeply disturbed that Christians align themselves with a known and unapologetic adulterer. In memoriam of the liberation of Auschwitz from racists with similar agendas to many people in Trump’s corner, I would feel remiss in not saying all of what I have just said, like it or not. Iron sharpens iron, Oneta. I was deeply disturbed in spirit by some of what I read from you above. Peace.
I have reread what I wrote above. I don’t find where I insulted anyone in the Lord’s name – even insulted anyone, Lord name or not. You don’t give any particulars about anything except calling Trump an adulterer. I’m curious. Did you support Clinton for his second term after the blue dress incident? As you say “iron sharpens iron..” Truthfully, I do appreciate the response from you. Pranab, is generally the only one who “parries” with me. I’d love to have someone at this point who would point out any of the 25 executive orders President Biden made his first week that was for the good for America. I’ve really been wanting to ask because a lot of my readers hated President Trump, never mind the good of our country. Maybe you will continue to spar with me. Believe me, when I am openly aligned with President Trump and have endured this far, I can take it. 😀

Or do you believe that President Trump was 85% bad. For one example I just heard repeated this week that P. Trump kept kids in cages. Those “cages” were build by Obama.
